Sometimes to work through the mist, fog and glitter dust of life, its worthwhile sitting with some thick, large sheets of blank paper and some freshly bought Sharpies and unravelling your wish list. {Spring is a comin' dear readers! I even took off my mittens today for longer than an hour and actually felt the heat of the sun on my back. How much am I looking forward to wearing stripes and shorts and sitting by the river drinking G&Ts? A-lot...especially as my part of Ye Olde London has the annual Boat Race roaring through it in April. Can't wait!}

{Yeah I know all of blog-world has already brought to your attention this wonderful site where the great cities of Paris and New York are compared side by side in graphic form...but for me (pour moi) it's actually very useful as we debate our future travels- croissant or sub? Red cup or vin rouge? The Boy goes to Paris sometimes for le travaille (or la? Le...la....) and I totally miss out; however I went to NYC for 2 days when I was 16 which was a million years ago, and the Boy has never been....oh the decisions...! Ps - its snowing so we might not be able to go anywhere soon, yay!}

{I was thinking today as I strolled along the Thames with my lovely Boy that one really should pay attention to the little things. The frozen puddles. The sparring ducks. The fact that right now I have a couple of potatoes in the oven and in an hour I will dollop some soft butter on them and they will become fluffy mounds of wonderfulness. I was once told that I was naive and easily-impressed. Yeah...so...?!!!! Look, listen, lap it all in, that's what I reckon}
